Preventive Checkups – Kinderpraxis Wädi

Preventive Checkups

Preventive health checkups are recognized proactive examinations established by the Swiss Pediatric Society (SGP / Pädiatrie Schweiz).

They typically take place at 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, and 18 months, as well as at 2, 3, 4, 6, 11, and 14 years of age.

During each checkup, your child is weighed, measured, examined physically, and assessed in their motor, language, cognitive, and social development. Depending on the age, further diagnostic assessments take place (vaccinations, blood pressure screening, hearing and vision tests).

Key Focus Areas of Checkups

1. Monitoring Growth: Physical health and mental development – early identification and guidance for any developmental variations.

2. Health and Parental Guidance: Nutrition, eating and sleeping patterns, parenting advice, developing independence and resilience, behavior, accident prevention, addiction prevention, daycare/school integration, vaccination planning, and support with school or emotional concerns.
