Pediatric Emergency Medicine
Acute medical concerns are frequent in pediatric practice. These are mostly sudden, febrile illnesses or minor accidents that require same-day medical evaluation.
The vast majority of childhood infections, especially respiratory illnesses, are caused by viruses that can trigger high and prolonged fevers. When needed, a quick and virtually painless finger-prick blood test in our in-house laboratory can rapidly determine whether a bacterial infection is present.
We organize our daily schedule so that time slots are kept open for urgent same-day consultations. Occasionally, severe emergencies require immediate treatment upon arrival, which may lead to minor schedule delays. We kindly ask for your understanding in such situations.
